STANDARDBRED CANADA STAKES PAYMENTS DUE
Standardbred Canada would like to remind horsemen that the following stakes payments are due on or before Sunday, March 15, 2009.

OSS TWO-YEAR-OLD PAYMENTS DUE MARCH 15
The OSS Administration would like to remind everyone that, since March 15 falls on a Sunday this year, the deadline for the $400 sustaining fee for Ontario-sired two-year-olds that were nominated to the OSS as yearlings in 2007, is extended to midnight of Monday, March 16, 2009.
Please be advised that envelopes dropped into a mailbox do not always get postmarked that day. The OSS recommends sending payments by registered mail so you will have proof that you sent it and the envelope can be tracked. If not sending by registered mail, please ensure that the envelope has a postmark of March 16 or earlier.
If you did not receive the sustaining notice that was mailed mid-February, just print your horse’s name and tattoo number on the front of your cheque and mail it to:

WEG PAYMENTS DUE
The Woodbine Entertainment Group would like to remind all owners, horsemen and women of the upcoming stakes closing on March 16, 2009. There are numerous stakes nominations and sustaining payments that are due for the circuit’s major stakes events.
Three-year-old Ontario-sired fillies have a sustaining payment for the 2009 WEG SBOS event.
Two-year-olds have sustaining payments due for the 2009 Champlain open and Champlain fillies, as well as sustaining payments to be eligible (as three-year-olds) to the 2010 Simcoe open, Simcoe fillies and SBOA.

FRANK RYAN, DES SMITH PAYMENTS DUE
Rideau Carleton Raceway would like to remind all horsepeople that the first (and only) sustaining payment for the Frank Ryan Memorial Trot and the Des Smith Classic Pace are due Monday, March 16, 2009.
The payment is $1,500 in Canadian funds or $1,175 U.S.
PAYMENTS DUE MARCH 15 FOR NJ-SIRED BABIC PACES
An important sustaining payment is due March 15 in order to keep New Jersey-sired two-year-old pacers eligible to the 2009 Lou Babic Memorial Paces, which are sponsored by the New Jersey Sire Stakes Program.
Due on March 15 are sustaining payments of $700 for the Babic Pace open and $400 for the Babic filly division. These payments should be mailed to NJSS, P.O. Box 330, Trenton, NJ 08625.
The Babic Open Pace, with an estimated purse of $120,000, and the Babic Filly Pace, with an estimated purse of $75,000, are scheduled for September 12 at Freehold Raceway. Elimination heats, if necessary, are scheduled for September 4 for the filly division and September 5 for the open division.
ELEVEN POMPANO LATE CLOSERS CLOSE MARCH 15
Nominations close on March 15, 2008 for the 11 new late closer series at Pompano Park. There is more than $200,000 up for grabs in the just the finals of the 11 races.
The top events are the Isle Pompano Park (Open Pace), Girls Night Out (Mares Open Pace) and the Trots And Slots Series (Open Trot). Each of the finals are $35,000 (added) and each of the two preliminary rounds have a purse of $20,000.
The Red Bow Tie Series is an open event for Florida-sired pacers only and carries a purse in the final of $30,000. The Aime Choquette Series is a conditioned trotting series named after Delvin Miller’s second trainer for 50 years, Amie Choquette, who is now 94-years-old and resides in Pompano Beach. The Springboard Series is the pacing counterpart to the Amie Choquette Series.
There are also five 'non-claiming series' for claimers. They are the Spring Sting ($8,000 claiming pace), the Spring Fling ($8,000 claiming trot), the Spring Bling ($8,000 claiming mares pace), the Four Wars ($4,000 claiming pace) and the Fab Fours ($4,000 claiming mares pace). The series is for claimers, but no claiming will be allowed in the series.

TIOGA AND VERNON PAYMENTS DUE
March 15 will mark the calendar as a day that several stakes become due for races at Tioga and Vernon Downs, including the rich Empire Breeders Classic, a race for New York-bred three-year-old pacers and trotters.
Three separate payments are due for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 EBC races. The first payment is a sustaining payment of $1,000 for three-year-olds to keep them eligible for this year’s $250,000 (est.) races. New York-bred two-year-olds will require a first time payment of $350 to remain eligible for the 2010 version of the EBC. Stallion owners are also reminded that a stallion fee is due to keep your foals eligible to the 2011 race. That fee will be equivalent to the stud fee in 2007.
The first round of payments are also due on March 15 for Tioga and Vernon’s older horse divisions. A first-time payment of $1,500 will be due for the Credit Winner, a $140,000 (est.) open trot; the Artiscape, a $120,000 (est.) open mare pace; the Conway Hall, a $125,000 (est.) open mare trot; and the Miss Versatility, a $120,000 (est.) open mare trot that consists of three legs and a final all contested on different sized tracks, concluding with the half-mile configuration of the Delaware Fairgrounds on Jug day.

PAYMENTS DUE AT HOOSIER
Hoosier Park has announced that several new late closing series will be offered during its upcoming 80-day meet, and that he first deadline for the new late closing series at the Anderson, Ind. track is Monday, March 16.
The series include the Future Stars Series, the Claim To Fame Series and the Survivor Series.

FLAMBORO DOWNS REMINDER
Flamboro Downs reminds horsepeople that sustaining payments for both the Confederation Cup and Bud Light Stakes (2-year-olds) are due on March 16. Georgian Downs reminds horsepeople that the final sustaining payment for the all-new Upper Canada Cup is due March 16. Restricted to Ontario-sired three-year-old pacers, the $500,000 (Est.) March 16 is the deadline for March sustaining payments for Grand River Raceway’s signature race, the Battle Of Waterloo, and the new companion race, the Battle Of The Belles.

MARCH 16 SLOTS CUP NOMINATION DEADLINES
March 16 is the deadline for nomination payments for the Slots Cup Series.
The Slots Cup Series spans June 26 through August 30 and includes four legs to be raced at Western Fair Raceway, Hanover Raceway, Clinton Raceway, and Grand River Raceway. The top money-earners from the qualifying legs will advance to the $100,000 final at Hiawatha Horse Park on September 12.
The Slots Cup Series is for Ontario-sired pacers, ages four and under, who are non-winners of $75,000 lifetime as of midnight February 15/09. Nomination fees are $400 and must be postmarked no later than March 16/09. Qualifying legs are raced for $12,000/division.
