Always B First First In Dover Invitational

Always B First wired the field in the $40,000 Mares Invitational Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday night (March 8). The race celebrated International Women’s Day.

Always B First left, settled then brushed for the lead reaching the quarter in :27. Driver Tim Tetrick took advantage of the windy conditions and throttled the speed of Always B First. They reached the half in :55.4.

Favourite Trick Of The Light moved first over down the backstretch. Incaseyoudidntknow followed second over on the rim. Dont Fence Me In completed the outer flow third over.

In the stretch, Always B First started to get leg weary late, but held on to win by a head in 1:53. Dont Fence Me In took second and Incaseyoudidntknow finished third.

Always B First is owned by Oompa’s Farm Inc, Robert Mondillo, Craig Henderson and Allen Wenc. Robert Cleary trains the $9.20 winner. 

Tony Morgan remained hot as he drove three winners on the Wednesday card. Morgan drove six winners on Tuesday night.

Penzance Hanover will attempt to win his fourth consecutive race in the Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace on Thursday (March 9). First post is 4:30 p.m. (EST).
