Allard Mares Sweep Saratoga Opens

Trainer Rene Allard and driver Billy Dobson swept the co-featured Open Handicaps on Sunday afternoon at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.

Allard and Mary Poliseno’s Dancehall Mistress (by Angus Hall) went last to first to secure the victory in the $18,000 Open Trot in 1:56. The Yonkers invader sat patiently early on, but flew late to record her first win of the season.

Her stablemate Yagonnakissmeornot (by The Panderosa) made her seasonal debut on Sunday in the matching Fillies & Mares Open Pace after a sensational 2014 campaign in which she made more than a half-million dollars. Like Dancehall Mistress, Yagonnakissmeornot was assigned the outside post in her half of the Sunday co-feature and had to go last to first in order to secure the victory. She did so while pacing to victory in 1:54.2. Allard co-owns with Yves Sarrazin and Kapildeo Singh.

Allard and Dobson not only swept both halves of the double feature, but piled up four winners on the card.
