Hoerdt Savours Training Milestone

Horses from the stable of trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt were firing on all cylinders at Northlands Park on Sunday as the horseman enjoyed a three-win performance at

the Edmonton, Alberta oval.

Hoerdt got the ball rolling in Race 3 with Stabilo, who rolled to a 1:56.1 victory. Hoerdt shares ownership on the six-year-old Mach Three miss with partner Erna Corbeil of Beaumont, Alberta.

Stonebridge Lyric gave Hoerdt back-to-back triumphs on the card when he motored to a 1:57.2 victory in Race 4. The three-year-old Rocknroll Hanover gelding fired home in :28.4 to give his handler a training double, and more notably the 1,000th training win of his career.

Bryce Stiller catch-drove the Hoerdt-trained Naknak Whodare to a 1:58 score in Race 7, giving the trainer his third win of the afternoon. The four-year-old son of As Promised is owned by Hoerdt, Erna Corbeil and Mike McAllister.

Hoerdt’s stable is off to a quick start this season as noted in the 16-for-69 record and a UTR that currently sits at .359. The three-win performance helped his stable climb over $77,000 for the season. He has trained winners in excess of $6.8 million to date.
