Stonehouse Baran and Casimir Invincible earned the right to square off in next week’s $13,700 final of the Pacin N Racin Series following winning performances in Saturday’s eliminations at Kawartha Downs.
Scott Cisco pulled off the 6-1 upset in the first $8,000 elimination with Stonehouse Baran, who led from start to finish. The five-year-old son of Rambaran chopped out panels of :29.1, :58.4 and 1:28 en route to the 2:00.2 score over Whatamibid and Im Fasterthanthou.
Kevin Isaac of Bridgenorth, ON holds the papers on the gelding, who picked up his first win of the season and the fifth of his career.
Casimir Invincible eked out a narrow victory in the second elimination, winning by a head in a time of 2:00.4 for the duo of driver Fred Brethour and trainer Brad Rae. Damadian set the speed and finished second while R L Fun took home the show dough.
The three-year-old son of Twin B Champ, who was sent off as the 7-5 favourite, picked up his second consecutive victory for owner Brad Rae of Woodville, ON.
A field of nine will have the chance to line up behind the gate in the final of the Pacin N Racin Series, which goes next Saturday evening at Kawartha Downs.
