Woodbine Mohawk Park will feature a special race with a field of women driving on Friday, March 8 in celebration of International Women’s Day.
This will mark the third consecutive year that Mohawk has hosted International Women’s Day races. Past winners Marie-Claude Auger, Natasha Day and Anita Ouellette are among the 10 drivers featured in this year's race, a $12,000 conditioned trot scheduled as the third race on the Friday card. Other participating drivers include Marielle Enberg, Pam Forgie, Samara Johnson, Maggie Jones, Brittany Kennedy, Jessica Turenne and Julie Walker.
Post time for the first race on Friday is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. The evening's simulcast show will be hosted by Elissa Blowe, Monique Vág and Renee Kierans, and will highlight women in harness racing throughout the 10-race program.
