Woodbine Mohawk Park hosted seven qualifiers on Monday morning (March 6) under overcast skies with snow flurries and temperatures hovering just above the freezing mark.
World For Two was the fastest qualifying winner of the morning in 1:53.4, charting his first mile of the season after a 2022 stateside campaign. Trainer/driver Mario Baillargeon looped the four-year-old pacing gelding to the lead approaching the third quarter mark in 1:26 before capping off the mile with a :27.4 final frame. The quick-closing mare Intothemysticmoon and resurgent pacesetter Whammer Jammer finished second and third, respectively.
Owned by Thestable World For Two, Guelph, Ont., the lightly raced son of A Rocknroll Dance competed mostly at The Meadows last year during his sophomore season, hitting the board five times from 11 races and taking a lifetime mark of 1:51.3. A three-time winner from 18 career starts, he's banked just shy of $40,000 lifetime.
Earlier in the morning, Baillargeon also guided the three-year-old Heston Blue Chip gelding More Than Ya Know to a 1:56.1 win in that one's first qualifying appearance this year.
