The winning streak is now four in a row and counting for OSS graduate Backstreet Shadow, who established a new track record at Dover Downs with his 1:48.1 score in the $50,000 Invitational Handicap.
Tim Tetrick hustled Backstreet Shadow to the lead from Post 8, and together they led the field through fractions of :26.2, :54.3 and 1:21.1. They then stormed home in :27 to win by two lengths over Jesse Duke N. Shnitzledosomethin took home the show dough.
Ron Burke trains the five-year-old son of Shadow Play-Backstreet Sweetie for his Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Larry Karr and Jandt Silva Purnel & Libb. The 21-time winner pushed his lifetime earnings over $540,000.
