Fresh off of being named the 2013 Horse of the Year in Illinois, King Mufasa, the now-four-year-old son of Powerful Emotion, has been profiled in a piece by Morton Times News.
King Mufasa, trained by Mike Brink and driven by Mike Oosting, won 14 of his 18 races in 2013. The brown gelding banked over $238,000 in purses last year and took his mark of 1:53.4 over the mile course at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
Co-owner Bill Wright told Morton Times News that ‘The King’ will race the 2014 season, mostly in Indiana, if he is healthy.
“He’s a very good-natured, lovable animal,” Wright was quoted as saying. “He’s as nice in the barn as he is on the track.”
