Pictonian Sareta defied her long odds with a wire-to-wire performance in the $7,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Pace featured on Saturday night (March 5) at Flamboro Downs.
Driven by J Harris, Pictonian Sareta left sharply from post seven to secure the lead right off the gate ahead of 6-5 insider Lady Hot Shot. The daughter of Western Paradise dominated the field of eight through panels of :29, :58 and 1:27.2 en route to the 1:58.1 victory over the "good" track. Good Luck Kathy came on for second and Cyndalianne Duc rallied widest of all for third.
Pictonian Sareta was the second-longest shot on the toteboard at 29-1 and rewarded her backers with a $61.30 payoff.
Jack Harris owns and trains the five-year-old mare, who notched her second win in a row from six starts so far in 2016. She was scratched from last week's Preferred 3 due to weather conditions, but was a front-striding winning a week prior at Flamboro.
The former Maritimes stakes winner now has 15 wins to her credit and a bankroll totalling $115,211.
