The $11,000 Preferred Pace capped off the Monday (March 4) evening card at The Raceway at Western Fair District and Wilcat Rocky went gate-to-wire in victory.
Wilcat Rocky and Travis Henry set panels in :27.3, :57.3 and 1:26.1. Rounding for home, the Dale Heard student brushed off his challengers and continued on to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:55.3. Cheddar Bay (J Harris) finished second with Docsphillycheese (Alfie Carroll) third.
Breeder Wildcat Stables Inc. co-owns the five-year-old Hes Watching-Wildcat Beauty gelding with Antonio Tangreda. Wilcat Rocky earned his second win of the year in eight starts and 18th win from 73 career starts, moving his lifetime bankroll to $130,723. He returned $5.80 to win at 2-1 odds.
