The VDM Committee is pleased to confirm that the Vincent Delaney Memorial Racing weekend will be held at Tir Prince Racetrack, in Wales, on August 13th and 14th 2022.
This will be the second year that the racing weekend is held at Tir Prince, after a very successful first go at it in 2021.
In an exciting development for 2022, The Meadowlands Racetrack is joining the list of sponsors this year, alongside long-time sponsors, Hanover Shoe Farms and Diamond Creek. The Meadowlands will be sponsoring the Bernie Kelly FFA Pace.
Jason Settlemoir is the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of New Meadowlands Racetrack, and was instrumental in making this deal happen.
“The Vincent Delaney Memorial weekend represents the grassroots of harness racing. There is something about the excitement and energy of that weekend that reaches across the ocean.” said Jason, “With more and more horses being imported from the UK and Ireland and racing on tracks in North America, it just makes sense for us to step in as sponsors as this event continues to grow exponentially each year. The Meadowlands looks forward to being part of the future of the VDM Racing Weekend.”
“We created this race in honour of our dear friend, Bernie Kelly, “said VDM Chairman, Derek Delaney, “She was our constant supporter throughout the years, and to have an industry giant, like The Meadowlands, stepping in to sponsor the race in her honour, is truly exciting for us. Bernie would be so proud of how much we have grown.”
International visitors are encouraged to attend, and for those planning a trip, there will be more information about transportation, hotels, etc, online at vincentdelaneymemorial.com and on the Facebook page. We also encourage anyone with questions to reach out to the VDM Committee.
The VDM Committee is still looking for sponsors for the weekend. If you are interested, please contact Derek, at [email protected].
