Brad Forward spent his birthday putting on a driving clinic at Windsor Raceway, as noted in his five win performance on Wednesday evening’s nine-race program
.
Forward, who started the night with 109 wins, pushed this year’s win total to 114 by the end of the card while his lifetime earnings inched a bit closer to $23 million.
His first trip to victory lane took place in the opener with the Doug Currie-trained Miszinntheriggin. The 11-year-old daughter of Chill Factor stopped the teletimer in 1:57.4. He returned to the winner’s circle in Race 4, and it proved to be the first of four consecutive wins for the horseman from Woodstock, Ontario.
Western Best (1:59.1), Treat Yourself (1:58.4), Terror Rising (1:56) and Joey Three Chins (1:56.4) completed the five-win performance for the native of Goulds, Newfoundland.
The career winner of 3,753 races has managed to pot more than $3 million in earnings in each of the last four campaigns, including a career-best season in 2008 when he stashed away in excess of $3.9 million.
