There’s been no stopping the tandem of driver Louis Philippe Roy and trainer Rene Allard in recent weeks at Woodbine Racetrack, and it was more of the same on Thursday’s 10-race card.
Roy chalked up five wins throughout the night, and four of them hailed from the high percentage stable of trainer Allard.
They teamed up to take the opener in 1:57 with the recently-acquired Win The Day, and they came back to capture Race 5 with Now What Hanover (1:56.4). They came right back in Race 6 with Julerica (1:53.3) and also grabbed a victory in Race 10 with Olivias Way (1:57.3.)
Roy tacked on an earlier win with veteran pacer Calgary Seelster (1:56.3) in Race 8.
The four-win performance for Allard leaves him just five wins away from celebrating a 100-win season. The barn has racked up close to $1.3 million in purse earnings this year, and Allard has watched his UTR climb to .365 in the process.
As for Roy, he’s just six wins away from hitting 100 on the season, and he’s just shy of $57,000 shy of hitting $1 million in purse earnings for the year. He racked up just over $1.1 million during his entire 2016 campaign.
