NYC OTB Was Set To Dole Out $4.5M

According to a report, a budget document indicates that New York City Off-Track Betting was planning on allocating $4.5 million through June, 2010 in order to pay four

consultants and two law firms.

An article by nydailynews.com states that two of the four consultants have ties to NYC OTB Chairman Meyer 'Sandy' Frucher.

The report cites NYC OTB spokesman David Vermillion as saying that Frucher was authorized to hire consultants in this past September. Vermillion called lofty estimates "outdated hourly projections based on activity that will no longer occur."

The article gives a rundown of the fees that various law firms, contractors and consultants were expecting to make via deals with NYC OTB.
