On Monday, March 22, Standardbred Canada Industry Communications Manager Darryl Kaplan spoke at the United States Trotting Association's annual Board of Directors meeting after being invited to the event in
Columbus, Ohio.
The USTA's annual Board of Directors meeting provided an opportunity for Standardbred Canada and Kaplan, who is also the editor of Trot Magazine, to share some perspectives with the USTA Board.
The meetings, which were open to the general public, allowed Kaplan to speak for over 20 minutes on issues critical to the current and future success of the North American standardbred racing industry.
Kaplan touched on many important topics, which included, among others, the need to embrace development, technology, change, and for racing to not solely rely on legalized alternative gaming within its various jurisdictions.
Video footage of Kaplan's presentation to the USTA Board appears in the pair of embedded items below.
Excellent presentation!
Excellent presentation! Your message is ominous, but hopefully sobering. The industry desperately needs to buy into your message. Good luck!
