For the second week-in-a-row, Ellaraider and trainer/driver Keith Crawford shipped into Windsor Raceway and captured the border oval’s feature race

.

Ellaraider, who was a 1:55.1 winner in last week’s $8,500 Mares Handicap Pace, overcame a tough trip to post a 1:56 victory in this week’s $8,800 affair.

Age Of Consent shot to the early lead from Post 5 while Crawford and Ellaraider got away fifth. Queen Of Royalty popped out of the pocket coming out of the first turn and in a matter of strides she brushed to the top. Hot on her heels were Ellaraider and Crawford.

Ellaraider was three-quarters of a length behind Queen Of Royalty as the passed the mid-way point in :57.3, but she was just a neck back of pace-setting counterpart at the three-quarter pole in 1:26.4. Queen Of Royalty lacked stamina, however, and as she began to fade Ellaraider dug in and took command.

A :29.1 final quarter was just enough for the six-year-old daughter of Keystone Raider to post a half-length score over Kwani Key in 1:56. Age Of Consent rallied late to grab third prize.

Crawford, of Howell, MI, bred and holds the papers on the 25-time winner, who has banked in excess of $107,000 in her career.
