Shes Pukka N won back-to-back starts in the Mares Open pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday night (March 3).

Shes Pukka N and driver Tony Morgan left alertly as did Anytime N and Soho Burning Love A. They were both parked to the quarter before Morgan released Anytime N to the quarter in :26.3. Soho Burning Love A, normally a closer, was parked to the quarter and finally cleared for the lead at the half in :54. Anytime N respectfully took back to second.

Soho Burning A was in full flight as Skateboard Chic and Alan Davis ground first up. They reached the three-quarters in 1:22.

In the stretch, Anytime N and Montrell Teague chose to ease out of the pocket. Tony Morgan and Shes Pukka N chose to remain on the pylons from third. Morgan’s intuition proved to be the winning strategy as Shes Pukka N cut the corner, rallied and won by three-quarter lengths in 1:50.2. She paid $11.20 for the win.

Shes Pukka N is owned by Peter Paul Venturini and trained by Brian Malone.

Anytime N raced well and finished second for trainer Josh Green. Montrell Teague drove. Soho Burning Love A, the 3/5 favourite, was third for trainer Jim King Jr. Tim Tetrick was in the bike.

Tony Morgan and Tim Tetrick each won three races on the betting card.

Racing resumes on Thursday (March 4) at Dover Downs. First-race post time is 4:30 p.m. (EST).
