The Fort Erie Live Racing Consortium has announced that Elissa Blowe is leaving FELRC to assume an important, new role as ‘Manager of Product Development and Marketing – Horse Racing’ for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

Blowe has worked full time with FELRC senior management team since June, 2010 when FELRC assumed the responsibility of operating the Fort Erie Racetrack from Nordic Gaming.

During her tenure, Blowe continued to assume more responsibilities over the years in order to enhance the marketing image of the track in the Niagara Peninsula and western New York. She introduced new and innovative promotions which ended up attracting a newly targeted demographic profile of the racetrack customers that have, in the past, been overlooked in most racing-market strategic initiatives. The success of these initiatives created a vibrant and exciting atmosphere at the 118-year-old track.

Blowe has brought a high level of enthusiasm and experience to FELRC in terms of providing a unique and effective schedule of events that cater to both the local community and the targeted audiences in the geographic areas identified by FELRC’s marketing consultants. The successes of the Tiki Bar concerts, the introduction of the Circle the Course promotion for Cancer Research and the local Food Bank, the Sunday Farmers Markets, Breakfast Clubs, Show Parlay Contests and the festivities surrounding the annual Puss n Boots stakes race are just a few of her initiatives that have made Fort Erie Race Track a customer friendly and unique entertainment venue to attend.

FELRC wishes Blowe well in her new position with the OLG division that is now responsible for all horse racing.

FELRC extends its thanks and great appreciation to Blowe for her role in being a major and important team player in the success of the operation.

Blowe’s last day will be March 31 and she will begin her new career with OLG on Monday, April 4.

FELRC wishes Blowe all the best in her new position.

Congratulations, Elissa! On the rare occasions I have visited Fort Erie, I have seen how much energy and hard work Elissa puts into that track. It is great to see that she will have a chance to be of service to this industry on a province-wide level, and I wish her all the best!

Wow! Port Perry High School is so proud of you Elissa. The alumni of this high school is really special. To name a few, George Cope (Bell CEO), Dr. John Hayes, Rob Fellows, Ty Burt (past CEO of Barrick and Kinross gold companies) and the list goes on.
