It has been reported that local politicians will be debating a multi-million-dollar commercial development at the location of the former Sandown Raceway in British Columbia this evening (Monday, March 3).
An article by Victoria News states that a pair of open houses have been recently held by Omicron, the firm which will oversee the redevelopment of the area.
The report has quoted Omicron spokesperson Peter Laughlin as saying that “The largest group of people who have been here (for the open houses) are horse people.”
The horsepeople that have attended the meetings have suggested retaining some of the horse history within the redevelopment.
The third reading for the project is expected tonight. After that, the project should be in line to proceed to the development-permit stage.
