Tim Tetrick added to his staggering season totals thanks to a five-win performance on Tuesday at Dover Downs, but Hall of Famer Ron Pierce wasn’t as fortunate.

Pierce, who was driving Shes Real Wild, was thrown from his sulky when the mare choked and fell. Pierce was taken to a nearby hospital where he was checked and later released. He was complaining only of a sore neck.

Tetrick got the ball rolling by capturing the second race with Haley Taylor (1:56.2). He returned to victory lane two races later thanks to a driving away score with TEs Cammie (1:54).

A wire-to-wire triumph with Taylorlane Cyprus (1:56.1) gave Tetrick the hat trick while Mic Mac Polly (1:55) gave him the Grand Slam thanks to her winning effort in the eighth race.

Tetrick capped off his productive day by taking the $32,000 Fillies & Mares Open Handicap with Still Electric (1:51.4). Her winning performance in the tenth race bumped his daily win total to five, and it pushed his yearly win total to 99.
