Beachin Lindy burned a pile of wagering money in back-to-back starts earlier this year, but since then the only thing he’s burned is rubber for trainer Steve Charlton.

The Pepsi North America Cup-prepping Beachin Lindy turned in another eye-catching performance thanks to a 1:54 score in a Thursday evening assignment at Woodbine Racetrack.

In rein to Louis Philippe Roy, Beachin Lindy got away fifth in his latest assignment while Topville Chrome and Hidden Delight tussled on the lead at the quarter pole in :26.3. Larrys Petrock, another N.A. Cup hopeful, rushed from third to first in the backstretch. He cleared to the top right at the mid-way point in :56.

Larrys Petrock continued to the lead the way to the three-quarter pole in 1:25.2, but Beachin Lindy was on the move in the backstretch and had reached the leader’s flank as the group headed into the final quarter of the $14,000 contest. Beachin Lindy wrestled away the lead from Larrys Petrock in the lane and used his :28.3 closing speed to best that foe by 4-1/2 lengths in 1:54. Taking home third prize was Hidden Delight.

Larocque Racing Stable Inc of Thornhill, Ont. owns the three-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere-Real Appealing. It was the third win of the season –- and the fifth to date -– for the career winner of $25.194.
