Miss Daburg was allowed to set fractions of :28, :57.3 and 1:27.2 while the 2-5 betting favourite, She Is Strong and driver Tim Tetrick, sat comfortable in third. She then brushed confidently past the three-quarters before extending her lead confidently in the stretch. She went on to win by 9-1/2 lengths over Lady Brass in a lifetime mark of 1:56.4. Miss Daburg finished third. She paid $2.80 to win.
