A high-ranking official with Penn National Gaming has been cited as saying that the racino expansion at Hollywood Mahoning Valley Racecourse will now be delayed for up to six months in order to deal with the seating issue which has arisen in the past few weeks.
A report by vindy.com explains that the Ohio State Racing Commission has declined to give Penn National a relocation permit and has instead insisted that a new plan with an additional 650 seats be added to the plans for the structure.
Penn National's senior VP of Corporate Development, Steve Snyder, has been cited as saying that his company will have to start over on new plans for the building, which will cause the months-long delay in construction.
