Mohawk To Be Model For Expansion?

It has been reported that Mohawk Racetrack in Campbellville, Ont. could be used as the model for a proposed $14-million raceway undertaking.

According to an article by couriermail.com.au, officials with Racing Queensland are pushing for a site in Yatala – located 40 kilometres south of Brisbane – to be the new home of harness racing in the area.

The report explains that in 2013 the state government committed to spending $10 million on the project. The article also explains that the state government has promised the Gold Coast Harness Racing Club it will replace the Parklands track which closed in September.

The report also states that Yatala is famous for its pie shop and that a good amount of leading trainers live nearby.
