Police To Calm Racino Tension

It has been reported that an increased police presence has been called in to ensure that construction of the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park goes forward without any more physical incidents.

According to an article by the Akron Beacon Journal, unionized protestors 'clashed' with non-unionized workers last Friday morning at the Ohio site after picketing boiled over.

The report states that the picketing and altercations occurred because non-unionized workers had been hired to complete at least some aspect of the construction of the racino.

The article cites police as characterizing the instances as 'minor,' and that a pick-up truck was damaged, tools were taken and somebody's foot was driven over.

There were no significant injuries and charges were not filed.

Hard Rock International has partnered with Northfield Park on the racino endeavour. Hard Rock announced in January that it plans on having construction complete by December of this year.
