Trying to please both his appetite for horse racing and his parents’ wish that he get an education, a young Ian Moore quit post-secondary school twice. Eventually he found a way to balance the two, and became a successful horse trainer and veterinarian. Now 70 years old, the man who flies his own plane, plays hockey with men half his age and trains horses as good as anyone, Dr. Ian Moore has been named the leading trainer in Canada for the first time. It’s been quite a ride, but just looking at Doc’s daily routine, it’s not a ride that’s slowing down anytime soon.
