'Girl' Rallies To Win Night Styles Over Mares

Gottaseeaboutagirl worked out a second over trip and easily overcame the leaders to win the $46,000 Night Styles final on Friday night at the Meadowlands Racetrack

.

Driver David Miller steered the lone three-year-old in the field of filly and mare pacers to a mark of 1:51.3. Just A Glimpse finished two and three-quarter lengths behind in second while Buck Stops Here held third. Gottaseeaboutagirl returned $7 for the win.

Bob Rice trains the daughter of Western Terror-Minnie Driver, who was a bargain $2,000 yearling purchase. Unraced at two, Gottaseeaboutagirl now sports a record of four wins in eight career starts. Rice’s father, Alexander Rice Sr., co-owns the filly with Michael Horn of Dover, Delware and Charles Bonham of Bridgeton, New Jersey.

Live racing continues Saturday night with a 7 p.m. post time. Joe McLead, co-owner of Sugar Valley Farm stallion station in Delaware, Ohio, will be the guest on In The Sulky before the start of the card.
