According to a report by The Southland Times, when Mexican Invasion recorded a win this past weekend at Gore Harness Racing Club in Invercargill, New Zealand, owner Colin McPherson notched his first win in 25 years.

"She showed ability at trials and Brian (trainer Brian Norman) knew she had speed," McPherson said about the mare which he co-owns with his wife, Sandra, and Gordon Martin.

Mexican Invasion's win came in the Hokonui Suzuki Trot.

Colin McPherson and his family have been associated with the Gore Harness Racing Club for more than 60 years. Colin is currently club treasurer. He has been on the committee for 30 years and served two years as president.
