Secret Jet weaved his way through heavy traffic and won the $20,000 Winners Over Select Handicap Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night (March 22).
Quiksilvr Blue Chip blasted off the gate and took an early lead to the quarter in :27.1. Skyway Bebop and Tony Morgan sprinted in front of the stands and took the lead away from Quiksilvr Bluechip.
Secret Jet and Allan Davis protected the rail position behind the early speed. Skyway Bebop, the 8-5 betting favourite, led the field to the half in :56.1 Remarkable De Vie trotted first-over up the backstretch and trotted past a tiring Skyway Bebop at the three-quarters in 1:24.3. Secret Jet was able to find clearance into the passing lane and won by a head in 1:54.2. He paid $29.20 for the win.
Secret Jet is owned and trained by Tyler Davis of Smyrna, Delaware.
Heavensdor Hanover closed to be second for trainer Wayne Givens. Art Stafford Jr. drove.
Remarkable De Vie finished third for trainer Traci Berry. Pat Berry drove.
