After going through a rough patch in recent weeks, Fork stepped up his game en route to trouncing Preferred 3 foes Thursday evening at Flamboro Downs.
Sent off at odds of 17-1, Fork shot to the top for driver Brett MacDonald and carved out panels of :28.4, :59 and 1:27.4 before firing home in :29.1 to win by 4-3/4 lengths over race favourite Wildwild Men in 1:57. Taking home third prize was Nebraska Jack.
Sarah Scott owns and trains the nine-year-old son of Southfork-Evolution. The gelding, who is 2-for-6 this season, won for the 17th time in his career while pushing his lifetime earnings over $210,000.
Another interesting winner on the Thursday evening card was Pepsi North America Cup hopeful, Talbotcreekwhiskey.
The three-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere-Luck Of Michelle, who was unraced as a rookie, broke his maiden over the half-miler in 1:59 on March 15 and came back to win again for trainer Luc Blais in 2:00.1.
Blais guided the regally-bred sophomore to his latest win for Determination of Montreal, QC. The pacer was a $130,000 purchase from the 2016 Harrisburg Yearling Sale.
