Rideau Carleton Raceway's leading trainer Jamie Copley enjoyed another successful night of racing at the Ottawa oval with a trio of starters all winning for the first time this year.
Trotting mare Tender N Kind ($6.90) rallied wide to win the fourth race and her first assignment out of the Copley barn in 2:00.3 over the 'good' surface while pacing gelding Clive Hanover ($4) sat an early pocket trip and came on to win the eighth dash in 1:58.1. Making just his third career start, sophomore pacing colt A Lucky Duck ($10.30) also converted from the pocket in race 11 for a maiden-breaking score in 1:57.4.
Copley trains and shares ownership off the three winners, which were driven by Stephane Gendron.
The Kenmore, Ont. horseman has recorded 28 wins at Rideau this year to top the local leaderboard. Brenda Spence sits second with 22 wins, while Rene Allard rounds out the top three with 21.
Copley is also among Canada's top five winningest trainers of the 2013 season.
