Jans Rich Girl matched her lifetime record on Sunday at Fraser Downs when she took home weekly bragging rights in the $13,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace

In rein to trainer Scott Knight, Jans Rich Girl led the field through fractions of :28.4, :57.2 and 1:25.2 before slipping home in :28.2 to cap off the 1:53.4 decision. Modern Legacy, who was sent off as the 1-2 favourite in the five-mare affair, had her rally come up a nose short. Furious Five came on late to finish third.
Sent off as the 2-1 second choice in the wagering, Jans Rich Girl won for the third time this season and for the 12th time in her career. She has banked in excess of $95,000 to date for the Sunbury Stables of Aldergrove, BC.
