Driver Don McElroy recorded a driving double at Western Fair on Friday evening, including his 4,000th lifetime driving win with trotting mare Honeydew Express
.
McElroy, one of the winningest drivers over London's half-miler, has long been regarded as one of the province's top catch drivers as evidenced by his two Lampman Cup titles as the top driver on the Ontario Sires Stakes circuit.
Although hampered in recent years with injuries stemming from a horrific pile-up at Grand River Raceway in 2005, McElroy still managed to notch over 100 wins and topped the million dollar mark in seasonal earnings for the eighth time in his career.
