Im Bossy Rebounds In Mares Open

Im Bossy bounced back from a disappointing eighth place finish in last week’s Princess of the Pacific Finale when she took charge in the $13,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace on Friday night at Fraser Downs

Trainer/driver Bill Davis sent the five-year-old Power Of Art – One Of A Kind mare to the front from Post 3 and drew away by two and a half lengths reaching the first quarter in :27.3. Slowing things down for the second quarter, Im Bossy rolled past the half in :57.2. Meanwhile, Furious Five (Serge Masse) moved first-up from fourth and advanced through three-quarters in 1:25.1, but as the field turned for home, Im Bossy pressed on to win by one and a half lengths. She stopped the clock in 1:54.1.

Furious Five finished a game second with Admired Beauty (Keith Clark) rounding out the top three.

The win was Im Bossy’s fourth in five tries this year pushing her earnings to $36,750. Im Bossy, a winner of 16 races and nearly $90,000, is owned by the J J J Stables of Aldergrove, B.C. and Alan Anderson of Willows, California.
