Multiple winning tickets on Friday's Jackpot Hi 5 at Woodbine Racetrack prompted yet another carryover, with the pool now at $679,544.20 for Saturday night's wager.
St Lads Penny Lane overcame an outside post 10 start through a hot opening quarter and held off Machet Rocket (7-1) from the pocket by a neck to win Friday's 10th race at odds of 15-1. An Angel Shes Not (5-2), 9-5 favourite Pacific Wine, and Stryking Dove, the 63-1 longest on the board, completed the top five finish order.
The 10-8-7-4-2 combination paid out $14,078.45 to winning ticket holders for a $1-based wager.
The entire pool pays out only when there is a single winning ticket sold that correctly selects the first five finishers in exact order of finish.
First race post time on Saturday is 7:25 p.m.
