Gold Stones rallied stoutly from sixth and just got up at the wire to capture Thursday’s (March 2) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,400 conditioned trot.
Gold Stones trailed by 7-1/2 lengths past the half when Drew Monti tipped her off the cones. The five-year-old daughter of Muscle Massive-Lady Sierra Gold loosely followed the first-up cover of Pass The Vape but found her best stride in the lane, edging Mystical Peter by a head in 1:54 to match her career best.
Sarah Andrews trains Gold Stones, who lifted her career bankroll to $178,817, and owns with Angela Cornell, Melanie Soesman and Christine Perfido.
Jack Killeen, Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and Brian Zendt joined Monti with two wins each on the 13-race card. Killeen’s victories were especially noteworthy, as they came at 14-1 and 84-1.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday, with first post at 12:45 p.m. (EST).
