More Qualifiers For Rosecroft Meet

On a beautiful Friday morning six qualifying races went postward at Rosecroft Raceway and featured some outstanding times

. Thirty-three horses attempted to qualify and 30 of them met the standard to race at Rosecroft during the Winter-Spring meet.

Driver Donnie Russell had a triple on the day, scoring with Crown Time Mc Jess in the opener (2:00.2); Check Dons Pulse in the fourth (1:56.4); and completed his day with the trotter Cool Colby (1:58.1) in the fifth.

John Wagner sat behind five on the day and they all qualified, highlighted by Lislea Pat (1:56.4), who showed he has lost none of his closing abilities over the layoff, rallying from next last at the half and roaring by the leaders late for the score.

Steve Warrington put El Cumanchero on the engine in the third and was never headed to score the victory (1:56.4) in the third race.

Tim Curtin closed out the day with a 1.55.4 score aboard Private Interview. This one made the lead and never looked back in the day’s fastest mile.

Horsemen were pleased with track and are looking forward to putting up some big miles this season at Rosecroft.

Horsemen are reminded that the first entry box will open at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning March 6 for the Saturday evening card. Entries are only accepted by telephone at 301-567-4401/4435 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. It is hoped that an overnight should be available around 6 p.m. eastern and it will be available first on Rosecroft’s website and then later available at the USTA’s website.

In order to enter a horse to race at Rosecroft, a 2012 Spring-Winter meet racing application must be on file with the race office. Those applications are also available at Rosecroft’s website.

Filly and mares will have first preference for Saturday’s card, but horsemen are urged to enter horses of any sex, in case, not enough filly and mares drop in.
