According to their union, security guards at Windsor Raceway are set to go on strike first thing Thursday morning
. The decision is due to a dispute in regard to a labour contract.
"We all have mortgages to pay for and car payments," Ron Duby, plant chairman of the Service Employees Union International Local 2, was quoted as saying in an article yesterday by The Windsor Star. "Some have teenagers in high school."
The 16 security guards -- that make roughly $18.29 an hour -- voted in favour for a strike on Saturday, February 28.
