Veteran claiming pacer Rain Gauge notched his eighth straight victory and kicked off a string of three consecutive wins on Century Downs' Saturday afternoon program of harness racing for Alberta's leading trainer Travis Cullen.

Blair Kidd's nine-year-old gelding Rain Gauge ($2.30) was a wire-to-wire winner in 1:54.4, leading the third race's short field of five $7,500 claimers around the Calgary oval in post position order with Cullen rockin' in the race bike.

Sophomore filly Chardonnay Snooze ($2.60) and five-year-old mare Cowgirl Poker ($33.80), driven by Cullen's father Ron, completed the young horseman's natural hat-trick. Cullen later drove eight-year-old mare Phoenician Gal ($5) to victory in the finale to close out the 10-race card with four wins for his stable.
