Marostega Triples At Kawartha

Trainer Peter Marostega teamed up with fellow Guelph, Ont. resident driver James MacDonald to dominate the Saturday night harness racing program at Kawartha Downs

Marostega and MacDonald scored three wins on the 10-race card together after clicking with seven-year-old trotter Missile T ($12.40) in 1:58 earlier in the afternoon at Flamboro Downs. Three-year-old trotting filly Zorgwijk Ladyluck ($7.40) kicked off Kawartha's card with a 2:02.1 victory while five-year-old pacing mare B B Windfall ($6.80) won her sixth race assignment in 1:58. Seven-year-old pacer Luckywhitesocks ($7.80) later closed out the card with a 1:57.3 triumph for the duo.

MacDonald also click with Sweet T An Bobbers for trainer Ryan Maxwell, bringing his win total for the day to five. He has won 35 races so far in 2011 and 127 since beginning his driving career in 2009.

Marostega has sent out 17 winners this year and 567 lifetime to bank over $5.2 million in purse earnings.

Both Marostega and MacDonald moved into second place in the track's training and driving standings with their Saturday wins.
