Firstclassflight was treated to a second-over trip in Tuesday’s $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and a result the former claimer was able to win the featured tilt in going away fashion for trainer Dave Menary.

Doug McNair mapped out the winning trip for Firstclassflight, who now boasts a 2-2-0 record in her first four starts since being claimed for $10,000 on February 3.

Sent off as the 6-5 favourite, Firstclassflight got away fifth before grabbing the cover of first-over attacker Cards That Count going to the mid-way point. Firstclassflight made a three-wide charge in the backstretch and then used a :30.3 closing panel to win by 2-1/4 lengths over Cards That Count in 1:57.2. Black Magic Eyes took home the show dough.

Menary shares ownership on the six-year-old daughter of Panspacificflight-JDs Jena with Michael Guerriero of Puslinch, Ontario. The 21-time winner bumped her lifetime cash stash to $135,017 with the victory.
