Serge Masse moved odds-on favourite Da Magician to the top from post two and held firm on the lead through the wire to take the $12,000 Open Pace in 1:54.1 on Sunday, March 17 at Fraser Downs.

Owned and trained by Masse, the five-year-old Dragon Again gelding led unchallenged through a :29 first quarter and :58.2 half. Incognito Cowboy, from seventh, attempted to brush to the lead nearing the half while supplying cover to Iwontdothatagain, but soon faltered moving to the backstretch.

Iwontdothatagain circled past Incognito Cowboy to apply minor pressure on Da Magician passing a 1:26.2 third quarter. Da Magician continued to lead by a length spinning into the stretch and slightly widened his advantage to one-and-a-quarter lengths at the wire. Iwontdothatagain held second from Boiling Oar taking third.

Da Magician won his fourth race from seven starts this season and his 31st from 59 overall, earning $370,889. He paid $3.30 to win.
