Matts Bank and driver Austin Sorrie took the swiftest route around the track in the class for the boys, leaving from post two, securing the lead and never looking back.

The Darcy Clancy student handled the timer with panels in :28.1, :58.4 and 1:27 before crossing the wire 2-3/4 lengths the best in 1:56.2. Brigus (Scott Coulter) finished second and Voracious (Michael Whelan) was third.

Absolution was the first to motor out to the outside, achieving second from the outside before the 1:26.4 three-quarters. From there, a match race towards the wire developed between the duelling leaders. Absolution was a step ahead to win by a half length in 1:55.4.
