LDL Gem had a change of scenery on Friday evening for her new connections, but one thing that did manage to stay the same was her finish position.
The recent acquisition had rattled off four straight wins at Flamboro Downs for former trainer Danielle Neil, and the mare was just as effective versus claiming foes at Woodbine Mohawk Park for new trainer Richard Moreau.
LDL Gem got away fourth before making a three-wide bid to get after the leaders on the way to the three-quarter pole. She worked her way to the front and then drew clear to win by a pair of lengths in 1:59.2 for driver Louis Philippe Roy. Nasty Rumour was next best, with Reys N A Rocket taking home the show dough in the $8,000 affair.
The seven-year-old daughter of Badlands Hanover-Claudia C now races for owners Cheryl McGill and Natasha Day. The victory improved this year’s record to 5-3-3 from 11 trips to the track. The 27-time winner has now banked over $108,000 in her career.
