It has been reported that the developers behind the proposed Valley View Downs racetrack in Pennsylvania have been granted an extension by the state's harness racing commission to secure financing for the project, and that casino heavyweight Penn National Gaming is involved in the process.
A report by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette explains that Endeka Entertainment, which is the entity that currently holds the rights to the license for the proposed track, is currently in some form of negotiation with Penn National to either run and/or possibly buy into the project in exchange for financing.
The article states that Endeka has to come up with $170 million in financing for the project and that the commission has given it another 78 days to secure the funding.
