It has been reported that the City of Kitchener may consider declaring itself a willing host municipality for casino expansion under the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.'s gaming modernization plan.
An article by therecord.com explains that the publication canvassed 11 City Councilors regarding the issue and five stated that they would be 'open' to the idea of exploring public sentiment on the matter.
According to the report, the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce made a request last month for City Council to discuss the idea of seeking public opinion on the topic.
