Preferred Win For Define The World

Things didn’t go so well for Define The World in last Monday’s Preferred Trot at Woodbine Racetrack, but what a difference a week made for the O.S.S. graduate

! The John Bax-trained homebred marched to the front and didn’t look back en route to winning Monday’s $35,000 assignment.

Paul MacDonell hustled Define The World to immediate command from the rail, and they had six high end trotters lined up behind them at the quarter pole in a :28-second clip. MacDonell caught a breather in the second panel and had the ball in his court at the mid-way point in :57.1. Hes A Demon attacked the leader around the final turn, and there wasn’t much separating them at the three-quarter pole in 1:26.2. A solid stretch battle continued between those two, and Define The World’s :28.2 final frame was just enough to hold on for the head victory over Hes A Demon. Race favourite Rose Run Hooligan had a ground-saving trip throughout and settled for third prize.

It was the second win of the season for the six-year-old son of Duke Of York-Venice Holiday, who is now a 26-time winner in his career. Al Libfeld bred and owns the gelding who has banked $1,388,070 to date.
