Trainer Ed Hensley enjoyed a four-win night at Fraser Downs on Saturday evening, and included in his big night at the office was a sweep of the top two spots in the $75,000 final of the Princess Of The Pacific

.

Lickcreek Jazzy took home top prize in the rich event and her stablemate Modern Legacy grabbed the runner-up award giving trainer Hensley 75% of the purse money. He went on to finish the night with four wins on the 11-race card.

Lickcreek Jazzy, who was handled by Michael Hennessy, was in no hurry when the starting gate released the field. She tucked into the four hole while Lil Kim rolled the pacers to the quarter pole in :27.2. Hennessy didn’t waste any time taking the bull by the horns, however, when he shot to the lead in the second quarter and had the field chasing him and Lickcreek Jazzy past the mid-way point in a :57-second clip.

The six-year-old daughter of Hi Ho Silverheels sped past the three-quarter pole in 1:25.1 before kicking out a :28.4 final frame en route to posting the one-length decision in 1:54. Modern Legacy, who came first over against her stablemate, was second best and Jans Rich Girl overcame early interference to finish third.

The victory was the fourth consecutive score for Lickcreek Jazzy, who improved her 2010 record to 5-1-1 in eight tries. The $37,599 winner’s share of the purse more than doubled her 2010 earnings, and it helped her lifetime total soar to $256,402 for Hensley and the J J J Stables of Aldergrove, British Columbia.
