Livelikeurdying raced like he was flying, leading at every call and capturing a facile victory in Tuesday’s John Sitzer Memorial Pace at The Meadows.

After a second-quarter breather, Livelikeurdying clicked off the back half in :55.3 for trainer/driver Randy Tharps. The 2-5 favourite scored in 1:53.2 — shaving a tick from his lifetime mark. He was 1-3/4 lengths better than the pocket-sitting Westwood Wizard, with What A Smile finishing third.

Johnson Hill, Jr. owns Livelikeurdying, a four-year-old Real Artist-Yourealligottonite gelding.

Remix and Dungeon Dragon also took $15,000 opening-leg divisions in the series for three and four-year-old colt and gelding pacers.

In the $22,500 Preferred Handicap Pace, Southern Allie made it three wins in the last four starts with a front-end triumph in 1:52 for Dave Palone, trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. Valentowner was second, with Full Of Sand a rallying third.

The five-year-old Allies Western-Pershing Angela gelding has won 40.3 percent of his 72 career starts.

Palone drove four winners and Brett Miller three on the 15-race card.
